ONO, Pennsylvania — Federal investigators are on the scene after a van explosion killed one person and injured another at a trucking company in Pennsylvania this morning.
The explosion took place at around 9:30 a.m. at JP Donmoyer Inc. in Ono, Pennsylvania, according to the local news.
The truck driver was parking his tractor-trailer in the company’s back lot just before the explosion. According to Pennsylvania State Police, . A worker in a nearby van was waiting to give the truck driver a ride back to the main building. Police say that as the truck driver was about to get inside the van, the vehicle exploded.
The van driver was killed in the explosion. The truck driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The van was a maintenance vehicle and contained oxygen tanks, an air compressor, and gasoline, according to Pennsylvania Trooper David Beohm.
Foul play is not suspected at this time, but the case is being investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and OSHA.
